Savola is one of Saudi Arabia’s leading diversified groups, with a strong presence across the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). Outside of it core market of Saudi Arabia, Savola is also present in Iran, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and China.

In addition to major interests in edible oils, dairy and sugar products, Savola has a grocery and hypermarket retail operation in Saudi with over 10% market share from its two well known brands, Azizia and Panda. It is the fastest growing supermarket chain in Saudi, with 50+ supermarkets covering the three major metropolitan areas, and the first Hypermarket format launched in 2004.

I consulted with Savola, advising the Board of this major retailer on its loyalty and financial services business venture strategy, leading to the set up of a major development project to launch a financial services business. My consulting deliverables included:
